Bringing Hope and Holistic Care to Vulnerable Children in Cameroon, Africa
Across Africa, countless children face profound challenges. In Cameroon alone, over 1.7 million children require urgent humanitarian assistance due to armed conflict, intercommunal violence, disease outbreaks, and climate shocks (UNICEF). Nearly 48.6% of children aged 5 to 11 suffer multiple deprivations, including lack of access to education and healthcare (UNICEF 2025). More than 50% of children have experienced various forms of abuse, with children with disabilities suffering disproportionately (Crux 2029). Many of these children live without parental care, face chronic illnesses, or are excluded from education.
Yet, through the mission of the Abakwa Educational and Health Drive (AEHD-USA), founded in 2016, their stories are being rewritten. Thanks to the generosity of partners like you, these children receive educational support, psychological care, medical attention, and social assistance. Every step they take toward learning, growing, and thriving is a testament to the power of compassion and the belief that every child deserves a chance.
The country team for the event – composed of Dr. René Wandji, Ndofor Pierina Afungsa, Louis Sam, Ndofor Georgia Dalia, Tume Emmanuel, and Ngeh Chrysanthus – is working tirelessly to maximize outcomes.

At the end of a recent outreach program, team member Tume Emmanuel shared these words about the children:
“Their courage inspires us. Their smiles remind us why we exist. And their dreams; dreams of going to school, being independent, and living with dignity—remind us that together, we can transform the impossible into possible.”
With your support, AEHD-USA continues to stand by vulnerable children across Cameroon (Africa), ensuring they are seen, valued, and given the opportunities they deserve.
